Dear Readers,

Welcome to Desta Talk.

We would like to take this opportunity to give you an insight into our ideologies, thought-process and most importantly, what we have in store for you!

We are a part of the Desta Global group which has been working in the agri-input segment since 2010 building products that have helped to touch the lives and livelihoods of the farmer community across Maharashtra. Our mission is to improve the profitability of farming business of one million farmers by 10% by the year 2016 in Maharashtra.

The farmers play a large role in the ecosystem and are, in fact the biggest and oldest entrepreneurs of our country and farming is their business.

What does it take for these entrepreneurs to sustain and grow their business in the ever-changing and more complex global economy, not to forget, the increasing risk for farming as an enterprise with the changing climate?

We knew that we had to go beyond the business i.e. products & services and into the space of information-sharing and Desta Talk was conceived.

DestaTalk is envisaged to serve as a vital component for addressing the specific, immediate, and long-term requirements of the agricultural community. This will help to fill the gap in the market in the form of  access to qualified knowledge and data to the end-users i.e. the farmers. Updated on a weekly basis, this will be in the form of an online portal –, followed by a print version to be launched shortly.

We will be covering all the topics that are important to you – this will include weekly weather forecasts, changes in local mandi prices, government policy and & subsidy related alerts, emerging industry & price trends, changes in agricultural practices, farmer success stories, pioneering technologies and innovations, expert views and advisory amongst others.

On the publishing of our first ever edition on the auspicious occasion of Gudi Padwa, we wish you a very happy new year. Let’s raise a gudhi to usher in a new world of knowledge for the flourishing and success of your agriculture business.
